Nest discovery

Caleb found this nest and took this picture. It is located in a Spruce tree about 30 inches off of the ground. Our next project is to find out what type of bird made his home so close to ours. Any suggestions?

    As tightly woven as it is, and as "neat" as it appears I would almost guess a finch of some kind. You might look up finch nests.Let me know if you figure it out.

    The tree that it is located in is frequented often by Finches. Although I did not see a Finch in the nest, I did see them around it a lot. I bet you are right. Thanks.
