Today's winter snow storm

Today we were able to get a lot of great pictures while the birds were feeding during the snow storm. The cardinals are beautiful as they standout against the snow.

  1. what a great documentation of these songbirds and the harsh weather conditions they must endure to survive.

  2. I don't understand how birds can stand in the snow without freezing their little toes off???

  3. I know what you mean. Especially when the temperatures have been as cold as they've been lately. I'm not sure what kind of weather you've been having in your part of Ohio, but here in Northwest Missouri---it has been in the teens and single digits, as much as -25 at night and lots of snow. The poor birds sit at the feeders all puffed up trying to keep warm. This is a pretty good link on How Birds survive winter, thought you might enjoy reading it http://www.backyardbirdcenterkc.com/04article/wn04.birdssurvivewinter.shtml
Happy Birding Caleb and I can't wait to see more of your wonderful pictures.
